The Krishnan Nair Group had its beginnings in 1911, when the late SRI. M.R. Krishnan Nair set up an outlet in Kottayam, under the name Krishnan Nair and Sons, for the sales and service of watches, wall-clocks and time pieces. With his courteous service and honest dealings as well as firmly believing in the motto "The Customer is King" he quickly acquired a vast happy and satisfied clientele, such that, at the time of his demise in 1948, he had made Krishnan Nair and Sons a household name in central Travancore.

Today, The Krishnan Nair Group, are the market leaders in their area of operations, enjoying high brand equity as proven by their myriad loyal customers over generations. the Krishnan Nair group are the authorised dealers for reputed Indian and multinational Watch Manufacturers like Rado, Seiko, Citizen, Fossil, Titan, Timex, Hmt, etc. Our retail outlets are the market leaders in their respective areas with high brand equity and loyal clientle for generations.

The reins then fell to his sons, and under the able leadership of the senior partner late SRI K. Padhmanabhan Nair the group saw rapid growth. this was indeed, the golden period of the group, for with his dynamism and business acumen he opened retail outlets in Allapuzha (1953), Thiruvanthapuram (1955) and Udhagamandalam (1957) each with service Centres equipped with imported tools and testing machines.

In 1953, watches assembled in Switzerland, under our own brand name " SINDEX " were imported and sold through our own outlets.

In 1970 a manufacturing unit equipped with the latest imported machinery, and staffed by specially trained technicians, was set up in Kottayam for mechanical clocks under the brand name "kens". This was marketed through over 350 dealers all over Kerala, Tamilnadu, Andhra Pradesh and Bombay. The products found wide acceptance among the public. encouraged by this, in 1972, for the first time in Kerala, the. assembly of watches was taken up, with components importer from Switzerland, France, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Not resting on his achievements, he further diversified into other fields like hardware and construction. the officers quarters at the Idduki hydroelectric project, was constructed by him.

The sad demise of Sri Padhmanabhan Nair in 2000, saw the of management pass to his son Sri K. Venugopal, who is ably qualified and determined to take the group to greater heights. An ultra modern showroom with an unique design was opened in Kochi in 2004. A multistorey apartment block, 'golden nest' was completed, with other projects in the pipeline. Sri. Venugopal, is ably assisted by his son Sri. Harikrishnan.
